日常生活の中で「がまんしなさい」と親から教育されている子供は、他の人ががまんしない時、それが許せません。「なんで自分だけががまんしなければならないんだ！」と、がまんしない人が許せません。自分が嫌なことに耐(た)えさせられたのに、他の子供がそれをしないということが許せないのです。礼儀正しくしたくないのに礼儀正しくした人は、礼儀正しくない人を許しません。
小さい頃、家の手伝いをしたくないのに、心理的に力ずくで、たとえば「それをしないと見捨てるぞ」という脅(おど)しなどで、家の手伝いをさせられた子供は、自分が親になった時、今度は家の手伝いをしない子供を許しません。多くの日本の親は五歳児の大人です。日本の親は、がまんばかりしている人が多い。だからわがままな子供を許しません。子供にやさしくなれません。"
